If you want to experience multiple phases of the Canton Fair, the above options can be combined to create a longer stay, with or without the extension to Shenzhen. Please contact us for a tailored itinerary and costing.
A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person is required on booking, with the balance due 45 days prior to departure.
Getting to Guangzhou: Along with direct flights from Auckland, there are many other options for getting to Guangzhou, and you may wish to incorporate our tour as part of a longer itinerary. We recommend arriving in Guangzhou in the morning of the first day.
Please contact our travel agent Loren South at Helloworld Lambton Quay, 04-4731382, loren.south@travel.helloworld.co.nz, or Kally Cunningham, 04-4731140, K.Cunningham@travel.helloworld.co.nz, to organise your flights and travel insurance.
Visas: if you are travelling on an ordinary New Zealand or Australian passport, a Chinese visa is not required for business or tourism purposes for a stay of up to 30 days. If you do not qualify for visa-free entry, a Chinese visa or APEC card endorsed for China is required. As visa applications now include the requirement for fingerprinting, a personal visa to the embassy or consulate is required, so we recommend you start the visa process well in advance. Full details available here.
Terms and Conditions
Before we get to the fine print, let’s cover the main question that travellers want to know: What happens to my money if there is another pandemic or a war?
In all cases, your initial deposit is non-refundable. This is to cover the work we have already done in organising the tour, and the work we will do in cancelling or rearranging your bookings.
Otherwise, we will endeavour first of all to refund any other payments. If we have not already paid out the funds to our suppliers, we will refund immediately. If we have already paid our suppliers, we will request a refund from them, but that will be subject to the individual supplier’s conditions. Looking back to 2020 when Covid hit, many suppliers refused to refund, and where payments have already been remitted overseas, it is almost impossible to get a supplier to refund against their wishes, whatever the terms of the contract may be. If refunds are impossible to get, we will try to have the supplier hold your funds in credit to be used when the tour is next able to proceed.
Travel insurance offers little or no cover for cancellation due to pandemics, war or civil unrest, but we still do require you to have travel insurance as a condition of travelling with us, so that you are covered for other reasons for cancellation, as well as for medical, baggage, travel delay and other unforeseen circumstances. Our travel agents will help you with travel insurance when organising your flights.
